Research

The research of the chair focuses on national and international company taxation, financial accounting and the effects of taxation on competition in particular in connection with tax harmonisation within the EU. Closely connected is the development of concepts based on information systems as well as empirical analysis to compare international tax burdens.   

 

The high quality of research is documented by the multiplicity of publications and the large number of projects funded by third parties such as supranational institutions, national and international ministries, economic research institutes and international leading auditing and taxation services organisations. Among others these are the European Commission, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation), the German Council of Economic Experts, the Bundesfinanzministerium (federal ministry of finance), the Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (Centre for European Economic Research), the Center for European Business Studies (CEPS), Baker & McKenzie, Ernst & Young sowie Pricewaterhouse Coopers.


The optained expertise is provided to the audience of specialists as well as to a broad public. Overall there are more than 265 publications, partly in English and French. Beneath 21 monographies as well as articles in appropriate german and international journals. On the occasion of academic conferences, symposia and workshops in Germany and about 200 lectures were held.
